Psychologist Fees in Melbourne for Men
I provide professional, evidence-based psychology services for individuals and couples in Clifton Hill and Melbourne supporting clients from the local community and across Australia. This page explains my fees, rebates and funding options so you can plan your sessions with clarity and confidence.
Therapy Fees
Below is a summary of my current fees for individual and couples therapy.
Individual therapyÂ

• Standard session (50 minutes) : $230

Payment is required on the day of your appointment.
Medicare Rebates for Psychology
If you have a current Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you may be eligible to receive Medicare rebates for your sessions. You may be eligible for 10 medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year.
How Medicare rebates work
You pay the full session fee on the day of your appointment. A Medicare rebate of $99 is then processed, which reduces your out-of-pocket cost. This process also supports coordinated care between your GP and your psychologist.
Any questions?
If you have any questions regarding the type of mental health support you are looking for, please read my areas of support page below,Â
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Some clients can claim separate rebates for psychology sessions through their private health insurance (extras cover).
- The amount you can claim depends on your insurer, your level of cover, and any annual limits.
- You cannot claim a private health rebate and a Medicare rebate for the same appointment.
Check your cover
It’s a good idea to contact your private health insurer directly to confirm what psychology benefits are available on your policy before you begin or continue therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need a referral to book a session?
No. You’re welcome to book directly without a referral. If you’d like to access a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.
How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
You can book a longer appointment with your GP and ask for one. They’ll talk with you about what’s been going on and, if appropriate, provide a referral.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payment is made on the day of the appointment in full via credit or debit card. The process is kept simple so you can focus on the session itself. I will then process the Medicare rebate of $99 at the same time.
How many sessions can I get with Medicare?
Medicare typically covers ten sessions each calendar year. Your GP can explain what applies to you.
Can I still book if I don’t want to use Medicare?
Yes. Some people choose to pay privately without involving a GP or Medicare.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you provide more than 48 hours’ notice, there’s no fee.Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged in full.
